Dear Friends....After 5384,5 liters of Chardonnay, why not this for the summer?
Two nice whites from Spain and Italy, with better price from the 02/06/09.
Salud!
TRES OLMOSFrom NOK 108 to NOK 85,-100% Verdejo (used for oxidized wine until the 70s, when good old Émile Peynaud developed the fresher style we know today)This Verdejo grape grows in 100 year old vines plots in Matapozuelos in Rueda, harvested at night so the grapes enter the cellar at the lower night-time temperature of between 10-15 C instead of the daytime temperature which in September can be way too much C. The grapes don’t stress, nor oxidize. Everybody happy. The result: Clean clear yellow wine, With a nose of limes and veggie notes combined with a thin “waxy” / marzipan like component, probably from the lees).
GRECO DI TUFOFrom NOK 145 to NOK 110Classic blend fron south Italy, where caos and simplicity, believe it or not, can ends up in beauty.Made of two “funny” shaped grapes: 80 % Greco, a vine giving double clusters instead of one, according to -Mr. Columella- and 20 % Coda di Volpe or foxtail, for the shape of the leaves. Particular vines...These eccentrics ladies live in a soil rich in volcanic deposits with white and yellow tufo, from Luogosano in Irpinia, Campania. They truly display real flavours, slightly mineral touch, but oily and spicy. I know, it can sound bad, but taste good.Greco di Tufo is a good companion for your grilled fish, mushrooms or fresh salads as long you like to use a lot of olive oil on them.
Salute!

Wine from URUGUAY ?
This might be a good chance to give it a chance.
Tannat is a tough grape of thick skin which tends to produce a lot of tannin. It is typical in wines from AOC Madiran, in South West France, and (as happened to Malbec, which flew from Cahors to Argentina) found a new home in Uruguay through the Basque settlers, during the 19th century.
While Tannat from AOC Madiran is usually rough wine when young, in Uruguay it become usually lighter in body and lower in tannins, yet holding a good structure and keeping its strength. CATAMAYOR TANNAT - MERLOT 2007PRICE NOW NOK 66,40 (BEFORE NOK 81,70)
To calm a bit this tempered guy (Tannat, of course), the winemaker use some help from the all time friend Merlot (which brings a soft, velvety touch) resulting in a wine of rich fruit, medium tannins, loaded taste and a good length.Certainly a good opportunity to try something new, good, and in a unusual price..
